How To Install udav on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install udav
on Debian 10.
What is udav
udav is:
A free cross-platform library of fast C++ routines for plotting data in up to 3 dimensions. It can export plots to bitmaps and vector EPS, SVG, IDTF files. There are simple window interfaces based on GLUT, FLTK and/or Qt. MathGL can also be used in the console. There are interfaces to a set of languages, such as, C, Fortran, Pascal, Forth, Python, Octave.
This package contains the udav window environment based on mathgl.
There are three methods to install udav
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install udav Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install udav
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install udav
Install udav Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install udav
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install udav
Install udav Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install udav
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install udav
How To Uninstall udav on Debian 10
To uninstall only the udav
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove udav
Uninstall udav And Its Dependencies
To uninstall udav
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove udav
Remove udav Configurations and Data
To remove udav
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge udav
Remove udav configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
