What is ucpp

A C preprocessor is a part of a C compiler responsible for macro replacement, conditional compilation and inclusion of header files. It is often found as a stand-alone program on Unix systems. ucpp is such a preprocessor; it is designed to be quick and light, but anyway fully compliant to the ISO standard 9899 known as C99. ucpp can be compiled as a stand-alone program, or linked to some other code; in the latter case, ucpp will output tokens, one at a time, on demand, as an integrated lexer.

We can use yum or dnf to install ucpp on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ucpp.

Install ucpp on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install ucpp using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install ucpp

Install ucpp on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install ucpp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ucpp

How To Uninstall ucpp on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the ucpp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ucpp
