What is twinkle
twinkle is:
Twinkle is a soft-phone for making telephone calls over an IP network using the SIP protocol. You can use it for direct IP phone to IP phone communication or in a network using a SIP proxy to route your calls. Notable features include multiple active identities, call transfer, call rejection, 2 simultaneous calls and 3-way conference calls.
This package contains the graphical interface.
There are three methods to install twinkle on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install twinkle Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install twinkle using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install twinkle
Install twinkle Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install twinkle using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install twinkle
Install twinkle Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
