What is twiggy

twiggy is:

Twiggy is a lightweight and fast HTTP server with unique features:

  • Can run any PSGI applications. Fully supports psgi.nonblocking and psgi.streaming interfaces.
  • This server uses AnyEvent and runs in a non-blocking event loop, so it’s best to run event-driven web applications that runs I/O bound jobs or delayed responses such as long-poll, WebSocket or streaming content (server push).
  • Uses XS/C based HTTP header parser for the best performance. (optional)
  • The memory required to run twiggy is 6MB and it can serve more than 4500 req/s with a single process on Perl 5.10 with MacBook Pro 13" late 2009.
  • Supports Server::Starter for hot deploy and graceful restarts.

There are three methods to install twiggy on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install twiggy Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install twiggy using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install twiggy

Install twiggy Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install twiggy using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install twiggy

Install twiggy Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install twiggy using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install twiggy

How To Uninstall twiggy on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the twiggy package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove twiggy

Uninstall twiggy And Its Dependencies

To uninstall twiggy and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove twiggy

Remove twiggy Configurations and Data

To remove twiggy configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge twiggy

Remove twiggy configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove twiggy configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge twiggy
