How To Install tweeper on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tweeper on Kali Linux.
What is tweeper
tweeper is:
tweeper is a web scraper which can be used to conveniently follow the public activity of social network users without the need to log in or even be subscribed to the social network; tweeper converts the public information to RSS so that it can be accessed and collected by a feed reader.
tweeper started as the TWitter fEEd scraPER but support for other web sites has been added.
The sites that tweeper is able to scrape and convert to RSS are:
- Twitter.com
- Pump.io based websites, like Identi.ca
- Dilbert.com
- Instagram.com
- Facebook.com (public pages)
tweeper can be used as:
- a command line tool;
- a filter for feed readers;
- a web based tool when used with a PHP-enabled web server.
There are three methods to install tweeper on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tweeper Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tweeper using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tweeperInstall tweeper Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tweeper using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tweeperInstall tweeper Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tweeper using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tweeperHow To Uninstall tweeper on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the tweeper package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tweeperUninstall tweeper And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tweeper and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tweeperRemove tweeper Configurations and Data
To remove tweeper configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tweeperRemove tweeper configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tweeper configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tweeperDependencies
