How To Install tuned-gtk on Debian 10

In this tutorial we learn how to install tuned-gtk on Debian 10.
What is tuned-gtk
tuned-gtk is:
The tuned package contains a daemon that tunes system settings dynamically. It does so by monitoring the usage of several system components periodically. Based on that information components will then be put into lower or higher power saving modes to adapt to the current usage. Currently only ethernet network and ATA harddisk devices are implemented.
This package contains the GTK+ GUI that can control tuned and provides simple profile editor.
There are three methods to install tuned-gtk on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tuned-gtk Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tuned-gtk using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tuned-gtk
Install tuned-gtk Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tuned-gtk using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tuned-gtk
Install tuned-gtk Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install tuned-gtk using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tuned-gtk
How To Uninstall tuned-gtk on Debian 10
To uninstall only the tuned-gtk package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tuned-gtk
Uninstall tuned-gtk And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tuned-gtk and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tuned-gtk
Remove tuned-gtk Configurations and Data
To remove tuned-gtk configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tuned-gtk
Remove tuned-gtk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tuned-gtk configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tuned-gtk
