How To Install tuned on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tuned
on CentOS 7.
What is tuned
The tuned package contains a daemon that tunes system settings dynamically. It does so by monitoring the usage of several system components periodically. Based on that information components will then be put into lower or higher power saving modes to adapt to the current usage. Currently only ethernet network and ATA harddisk devices are implemented.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install tuned
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tuned.
Install tuned on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install tuned
using yum
by running the following command:
Install tuned on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
