How To Install tuareg-mode on Ubuntu 18.04

What is tuareg-mode
tuareg-mode is:
It handles automatic indentation of Objective Caml and Caml-Light code. Key parts of the code are highlighted using Font-Lock. It provides support to run an interactive OCaml toplevel and debugger. It works both with FSF Emacs and XEmacs.
This mode attempts to give better results than the one provided in the standard distribution of OCaml and which is available through the ocaml-mode package. Indentation rules are slightly different but closer to classical functional languages indentation. Tuareg-mode gives access to some functionalities from ocaml-mode when that package is installed.
There are three methods to install tuareg-mode on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tuareg-mode Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tuareg-mode using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tuareg-mode
Install tuareg-mode Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tuareg-mode using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tuareg-mode
Install tuareg-mode Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install tuareg-mode using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tuareg-mode
How To Uninstall tuareg-mode on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the tuareg-mode package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tuareg-mode
Uninstall tuareg-mode And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tuareg-mode and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tuareg-mode
Remove tuareg-mode Configurations and Data
To remove tuareg-mode configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tuareg-mode
Remove tuareg-mode configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tuareg-mode configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tuareg-mode
