How To Install tthsum on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install tthsum on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is tthsum
tthsum is:
tthsum generates or checks TTH checksums (root of the THEX hash tree). The Merkle Hash Tree, invented by Ralph Merkle, is a hash construct that exhibits desirable properties for verifying the integrity of files and file subranges in an incremental or out-of-order fashion. tthsum uses the Tiger hash algorithm for both the internal and the leaf nodes.

There are three methods to install tthsum on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tthsum Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tthsum using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tthsum

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install tthsum using apt by running the following command:

How To Uninstall tthsum on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the tthsum package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tthsum
Uninstall tthsum And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tthsum and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tthsum
Remove tthsum Configurations and Data
To remove tthsum configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tthsum
Remove tthsum configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tthsum configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tthsum
