How To Install treeviewx on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install treeviewx on Kali Linux.
What is treeviewx
treeviewx is:
TreeView X is an open source and multi-platform program to display phylogenetic trees. It can read and display NEXUS and Newick format tree files (such as those output by PAUP*, ClustalX, TREE-PUZZLE, and other programs). It allows one to order the branches of the trees, and to export the trees in SVG format.
There are three methods to install treeviewx on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install treeviewx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install treeviewx using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install treeviewxInstall treeviewx Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install treeviewx using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the treeviewx package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove treeviewxRemove treeviewx Configurations and Data
To remove treeviewx configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge treeviewxRemove treeviewx configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
