How To Install transcalc on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install transcalc
on Debian 9.
What is transcalc
transcalc is:
Transcalc is an analysis and synthesis tool for calculating the electrical and physical properties of different kinds of RF and microwave transmission lines.
For each type of transmission line, using dialog boxes, you can enter values for the various parameters, and either calculate its electrical properties (analyze), or use the given electrical requirements to synthesize physical parameters of the required transmission line.
Available transmission lines (this list will expand with subsequent releases): Microstrip, Rectangular Waveguide.
There are three methods to install transcalc
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install transcalc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install transcalc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install transcalc
Install transcalc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install transcalc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install transcalc
Install transcalc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install transcalc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install transcalc
How To Uninstall transcalc on Debian 9
To uninstall only the transcalc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove transcalc
Uninstall transcalc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall transcalc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove transcalc
Remove transcalc Configurations and Data
To remove transcalc
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge transcalc
Remove transcalc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove transcalc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge transcalc
