How To Install tpp on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tpp on Kali Linux.
What is tpp
tpp is:
Tpp stands for text presentation program and is an ncurses-based presentation tool. The presentation can be written with your favorite editor in a simple description format and then shown on any text terminal that is supported by ncurses - ranging from an old VT100 to the Linux framebuffer to an xterm.
It supports color, LaTeX output of presentation, sliding in text, a command prompt and additional cool features.
The package also installs syntax highlighting modes/add-ons for emacs and vim. To enable the vim add-on, the package vim-addon-manager needs to be installed, too.
There are three methods to install tpp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tpp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tpp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tppInstall tpp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tpp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tppInstall tpp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tpp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tppHow To Uninstall tpp on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the tpp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tppUninstall tpp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tpp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tppRemove tpp Configurations and Data
To remove tpp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tppRemove tpp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tpp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tppDependencies
