How To Install tpm2-pkcs11 on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tpm2-pkcs11 on CentOS 8.
What is tpm2-pkcs11
PKCS #11 is a Public-Key Cryptography Standard that defines a standard method to access cryptographic services from tokens/ devices such as hardware security modules (HSM), smart cards, etc. In this project we intend to use a TPM2 device as the cryptographic token.
We can use yum or dnf to install tpm2-pkcs11 on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tpm2-pkcs11.
Install tpm2-pkcs11 on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install tpm2-pkcs11 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install tpm2-pkcs11
Install tpm2-pkcs11 on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install tpm2-pkcs11 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install tpm2-pkcs11
How To Uninstall tpm2-pkcs11 on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the tpm2-pkcs11 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove tpm2-pkcs11
