How To Install tomcat8-common on Ubuntu 18.04

tomcat8-common is:
Apache Tomcat implements the Java Servlet and the JavaServer Pages (JSP) specifications from Oracle, and provides a “pure Java” HTTP web server environment for Java code to run.
This package contains common files needed by the tomcat8 and tomcat8-user packages (Tomcat 8 scripts and libraries).
There are three methods to install tomcat8-common on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tomcat8-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tomcat8-common using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tomcat8-common using apt by running the following command:

Install tomcat8-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install tomcat8-common using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tomcat8-common
How To Uninstall tomcat8-common on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the tomcat8-common package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tomcat8-common
Uninstall tomcat8-common And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tomcat8-common and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tomcat8-common
Remove tomcat8-common Configurations and Data
To remove tomcat8-common configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tomcat8-common

We can use the following command to remove tomcat8-common configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
