How To Install togl-demos on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install togl-demos on Kali Linux.
What is togl-demos
togl-demos is:
Togl is a Tk widget for OpenGL rendering. Togl was originally based on OGLTK, written by Benjamin Bederson at the University of New Mexico. Togl’s main features are:
- unifies Microsoft Windows, X11 (Linux/IRIX/…), and Mac OS X Aqua support
- support for requesting stencil, accumulation, alpha buffers, etc.
- multiple OpenGL drawing windows
- simple stereo rendering support
- simple, portable font support
- color-index mode support including color allocation functions
- overlay plane support
- OpenGL extension testing from Tcl
- Tcl Extension Architecture (TEA) 3 compliant
This package contains demos.
There are three methods to install togl-demos on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install togl-demos Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install togl-demos using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install togl-demosInstall togl-demos Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install togl-demos using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install togl-demosInstall togl-demos Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install togl-demos using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install togl-demosHow To Uninstall togl-demos on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the togl-demos package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove togl-demosUninstall togl-demos And Its Dependencies
To uninstall togl-demos and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove togl-demosRemove togl-demos Configurations and Data
To remove togl-demos configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge togl-demosRemove togl-demos configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove togl-demos configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge togl-demosDependencies
