How To Install tofrodos on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tofrodos on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is tofrodos
tofrodos is:
DOS text files traditionally have CR/LF (carriage return/line feed) pairs as their new line delimiters while Unix text files traditionally have LFs (line feeds) to terminate each line.
Tofrodos comprises one program, “fromdos” alias “todos”, which converts text files to and from these formats. Use “fromdos” to convert DOS text files to the Unix format, and “todos” to convert Unix text files to the DOS format.
There are three methods to install tofrodos on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tofrodos Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tofrodos using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tofrodos
Install tofrodos Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tofrodos using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tofrodos
Install tofrodos Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update

sudo aptitude -y install tofrodos

To uninstall only the tofrodos package we can use the following command:

Uninstall tofrodos And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tofrodos and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tofrodos
Remove tofrodos Configurations and Data
To remove tofrodos configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tofrodos
Remove tofrodos configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tofrodos configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
