How To Install tofrodos on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install tofrodos on Kali Linux.

What is tofrodos

tofrodos is:

DOS text files traditionally have CR/LF (carriage return/line feed) pairs as their new line delimiters while Unix text files traditionally have LFs (line feeds) to terminate each line.

Tofrodos comprises one program, “fromdos” alias “todos”, which converts text files to and from these formats. Use “fromdos” to convert DOS text files to the Unix format, and “todos” to convert Unix text files to the DOS format.

There are three methods to install tofrodos on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install tofrodos Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install tofrodos using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install tofrodos

Install tofrodos Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install tofrodos using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install tofrodos

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
