How To Install tinyproxy on Kali Linux

What is tinyproxy
tinyproxy is:
An anonymizing HTTP proxy which is very light on system resources, ideal for smaller networks and similar situations where other proxies (such as Squid) may be overkill and/or a security risk. Tinyproxy can also be configured to anonymize HTTP requests (allowing for exceptions on a per-header basis).
This package contains everything for running tinyproxy as a system-wide service.
There are three methods to install tinyproxy
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tinyproxy Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tinyproxy
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tinyproxy

After updating apt database, We can install tinyproxy

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install tinyproxy
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tinyproxy
How To Uninstall tinyproxy on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the tinyproxy
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tinyproxy
Uninstall tinyproxy And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tinyproxy
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tinyproxy
Remove tinyproxy Configurations and Data
To remove tinyproxy
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tinyproxy
