What is timemachine

timemachine is:

Timemachine writes the last 10 seconds of audio before the button press and everything from now on up to the next button press into a WAV-file.

The idea is that you doodle away with whatever is kicking around in your studio and when you heard an interesting noise, you’d press record and capture it, without having to try and recreate it.

It uses the JACK audio connection kit, an API that lets audio application communicate with each other and share audio data in realtime.

Install timemachine Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install timemachine using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install timemachine

After updating apt database, We can install timemachine using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install timemachine using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install timemachine

To uninstall only the timemachine package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove timemachine

To uninstall timemachine and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove timemachine

Remove timemachine Configurations and Data

To remove timemachine configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge timemachine
