Tilda is a terminal emulator similar to normal terminals like gnome-terminal (GNOME) or Konsole (KDE), with the difference that it drops down from the edge of a screen when a certain configurable hotkey is pressed. This is similar to the build-in consoles in games such as Quake or Half-live. Tilda is highly configureable through a graphical wizard.

There are three methods to install tilda on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install tilda Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install tilda using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install tilda using apt by running the following command:

How To Uninstall tilda on Ubuntu 18.04

sudo apt-get -y autoremove tilda

Remove tilda Configurations and Data

To remove tilda configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge tilda
