on AlmaLinux 8.
What is texlive-unicode-data
This bundle provides generic access to Unicode Consortium data for TeX use. It contains a set of text files provided by the Unicode Consortium which are currently all from Unicode 8.0.0, with the exception of MathClass.txt which is not currently part of the Unicode Character Database. Accompanying these source data are generic TeX loader files allowing this data to be used as part of TeX runs, in particular in building format files. Currently there are two loader files set up and one for initialising XeTeX character classes as has been carried out to date by unicode-letters.tex. The source data are distributed in accordance with the license stipulated by the Unicode Consortium. The bundle as a whole is co- ordinated by the LaTeX3 Project as a general resource for TeX users.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install texlive-unicode-data
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-unicode-data.

Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-unicode-data
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-unicode-data
Install texlive-unicode-data on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-unicode-data
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install texlive-unicode-data
How To Uninstall texlive-unicode-data on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the texlive-unicode-data
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-unicode-data
