In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-mathdesign
on CentOS 7.
What is texlive-mathdesign
The Math Design project offers free mathematical fonts, and “faked” Caps-and-Small-Caps fonts, that fit with existing text fonts. So far, four font families are available family, which corresponds to Adobe Utopia text fonts; - the mdugm family, which corresponds to URW Garamond text fonts; - the mdfga family, which corresponds to the (commercial) Fontsite Garamond text fonts; - the mdbch family, which corresponds to Bitstream Charter text fonts. Each maths font has a range of extra symbols, and blackboard bold and ‘mathcal’ alphabets.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install texlive-mathdesign
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-mathdesign.
Install texlive-mathdesign on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-mathdesign
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install texlive-mathdesign
Install texlive-mathdesign on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-mathdesign
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-mathdesign
How To Uninstall texlive-mathdesign on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the texlive-mathdesign
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-mathdesign
