What is texlive-marvosym

Martin Vogel’s Symbol font (marvosym) contains the Euro currency symbol as defined by the European commission, along with symbols for structural engineering; symbols for steel cross-sections; astronomy signs (sun, moon, planets); the 12 signs of the zodiac; scissor symbols; CE sign and others. The package contains both the original TrueType font and the derived Type 1 font, together with support files for TeX (LaTeX). date

We can use yum or dnf to install texlive-marvosym on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-marvosym.

Install texlive-marvosym on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install texlive-marvosym using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install texlive-marvosym

Install texlive-marvosym on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install texlive-marvosym using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install texlive-marvosym

How To Uninstall texlive-marvosym on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the texlive-marvosym package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove texlive-marvosym
