What is texlive-kpathsea

Kpathsea is a library and utility programs which provide path searching facilities for TeX file types, including the self- locating feature required for movable installations, layered on top of a general search mechanism. It is not distributed separately, but rather is released and maintained as part of the TeX live sources. date

We can use yum or dnf to install texlive-kpathsea on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-kpathsea.

Install texlive-kpathsea on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install texlive-kpathsea using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install texlive-kpathsea

Install texlive-kpathsea on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install texlive-kpathsea using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install texlive-kpathsea

How To Uninstall texlive-kpathsea on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the texlive-kpathsea package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove texlive-kpathsea
