How To Install texlive-ae on AlmaLinux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-ae
on AlmaLinux 8.
What is texlive-ae
A set of virtual fonts which emulates T1 coded fonts using the standard CM fonts. The package name, AE fonts, supposedly stands for “Almost European”. The main use of the package was to produce PDF files using Adobe Type 1 versions of the CM fonts instead of bitmapped EC fonts. Note that direct substitutes for the bitmapped EC fonts are now available, via the CM-super, Latin Modern and (in a restricted way) CM-LGC font sets.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install texlive-ae
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-ae.
Install texlive-ae on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-ae
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-ae
Install texlive-ae on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-ae
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install texlive-ae
How To Uninstall texlive-ae on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the texlive-ae
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-ae
