In this tutorial we learn how to install tetraproc on Kali Linux.

What is tetraproc

tetraproc is:

TetraProc converts the A-format signals from a tetrahedral Ambisonic microphone into B-format signals ready for recording. Main features:

  • A-B conversion using a classic scalar matrix and minimum phase filters, or
  • A-B conversion using a 4 by 4 convolution matrix using measured or computed impulse responses, or a combination of both.
  • Individual microphone calibration facilities.
  • 24 dB/oct higpass filters.
  • Metering, monitoring and test facilities.
  • Virtual stereo mic for stereo monitoring or recording.
  • Unlimited number of stored configurations.
  • Jack client with graphical user interface.

There are three methods to install tetraproc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install tetraproc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install tetraproc using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install tetraproc

Install tetraproc Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install tetraproc using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install tetraproc

Install tetraproc Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install tetraproc using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install tetraproc

How To Uninstall tetraproc on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the tetraproc package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove tetraproc

Uninstall tetraproc And Its Dependencies

To uninstall tetraproc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove tetraproc

Remove tetraproc Configurations and Data

To remove tetraproc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge tetraproc

Remove tetraproc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove tetraproc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tetraproc
