How To Install terraintool on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install terraintool on Kali Linux.
What is terraintool
terraintool is:
This tool generates terrain meshes for cave survey tools from online terrain altitude datasets. It uses the NASA SRTM and later NASADEM datasets (The latter has the voids removed using ASTER data). The relevant data is downloaded and excerpted, geolocated to the desired co-ordinate system, resampled to a mesh grid, an offset to local grid added if required, the result displayed, and saved in survex (.svx) or therion (.th) format. It is written in java.
There are three methods to install terraintool on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install terraintool Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install terraintool using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the terraintool package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove terraintoolUninstall terraintool And Its Dependencies
To uninstall terraintool and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove terraintoolRemove terraintool Configurations and Data
To remove terraintool configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge terraintoolRemove terraintool configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove terraintool configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
