How To Install telnetd on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install telnetd on Kali Linux.
What is telnetd
telnetd is:
The in.telnetd program is a server which supports the DARPA telnet interactive communication protocol.
This legacy server should in general be abandoned in favour of a contemporary ssh-server, as this implementation only is able to process password and user name in clear text. Other variants, like telnetd-ssl and a selection of Kerberized TELNET servers, are able to improve on this by providing secure forms of authentication and encryption.
There are three methods to install telnetd on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install telnetd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install telnetd using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install telnetdInstall telnetd Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install telnetd using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install telnetd using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the telnetd package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove telnetdUninstall telnetd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall telnetd and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove telnetdRemove telnetd Configurations and Data
To remove telnetd configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge telnetdRemove telnetd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove telnetd configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
