How To Install teckit on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install teckit
on AlmaLinux 8.
What is teckit
TECkit is a low-level toolkit intended to be used by other applications that need to perform encoding conversions (e.g., when importing legacy data into a Unicode-based application). The primary component of the TECkit package is therefore a library that performs conversions; this is the “TECkit engine”. The engine relies on mapping tables in a specific binary format (for which documentation is available); there is a compiler that creates such tables from a human-readable mapping description (a simple text file).
We can use yum
or dnf
to install teckit
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install teckit.
Install teckit on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install teckit
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install teckit
Install teckit on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install teckit
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install teckit
How To Uninstall teckit on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the teckit
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove teckit
