How To Install tclxapian on Kali Linux

What is tclxapian

This package provides Xapian Tcl bindings which should work with any version of Tcl >= 8.1 (by using Tcl’s stubs mechanism.)
The Xapian search engine library is a highly adaptable toolkit which allows developers to easily add advanced indexing and search facilities to their own applications. It implements the probabilistic model of information retrieval, and provides facilities for performing ranked free-text searches, relevance feedback, phrase searching, boolean searching, stemming, and simultaneous update and searching. It is highly scalable, and is capable of working with collections containing hundreds of millions of documents.
The Xapian Tcl bindings provide an interface to the Xapian library from the Tcl programming language, allowing both indexing and retrieval operations.
There are three methods to install tclxapian on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tclxapian Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tclxapian using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tclxapianInstall tclxapian Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tclxapian using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tclxapianInstall tclxapian Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tclxapian using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tclxapianHow To Uninstall tclxapian on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the tclxapian package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tclxapianUninstall tclxapian And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tclxapian and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tclxapianRemove tclxapian Configurations and Data
To remove tclxapian configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tclxapianRemove tclxapian configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tclxapian configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tclxapianDependencies
