How To Install tagcoll on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tagcoll on Kali Linux.
What is tagcoll
tagcoll is:
tagcoll takes a collection of items categorized with multiple tags and performs various kinds of operations on them:
- organize the collection in an intuitively navigable hierarchy;
- discover and show implicit hierarchical relationships between tags;
- apply various transformations to the collection
- produce a special patch file with the differencies between two collections. Such patch files are specific to tagged collections, and can be applied and merged more freely than normal diff output;
- apply a previously generated patch file to a collection.
tagcoll has been written with the purpose of studying tagged collections and experiment with tagged collection algorithms.
There are three methods to install tagcoll on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tagcoll Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tagcoll using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tagcollInstall tagcoll Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tagcoll using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tagcollInstall tagcoll Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tagcoll using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tagcollHow To Uninstall tagcoll on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the tagcoll package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tagcollUninstall tagcoll And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tagcoll and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tagcollRemove tagcoll Configurations and Data
To remove tagcoll configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tagcollRemove tagcoll configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tagcoll configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tagcollDependencies
