Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install systemtap
on CentOS 7.
What is systemtap
SystemTap is an instrumentation system for systems running Linux. Developers can write instrumentation scripts to collect data on the operation of the system. The base systemtap package contains/requires the components needed to locally develop and execute systemtap scripts.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install systemtap
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install systemtap.
Install systemtap on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install systemtap
using yum
