What is supermin5
Supermin is a tool for building supermin appliances. These are tiny appliances (similar to virtual machines), usually around 100KB in size, which get fully instantiated on-the-fly in a fraction of a second when you need to boot one of them. This package contains supermin version 5.1.19. The binary is called ‘supermin5’, so that we do not break compatibility with RHEL 7 GA.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install supermin5
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install supermin5.
Install supermin5 on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install supermin5
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install supermin5
Install supermin5 on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install supermin5
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install supermin5
How To Uninstall supermin5 on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the supermin5
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove supermin5
