How To Install supermin on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install supermin on AlmaLinux 8.
What is supermin
Supermin is a tool for building supermin appliances. These are tiny appliances (similar to virtual machines), usually around 100KB in size, which get fully instantiated on-the-fly in a fraction of a second when you need to boot one of them.
We can use yum or dnf to install supermin on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install supermin.
Install supermin on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install supermin using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install supermin
Install supermin on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install supermin using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install supermin
How To Uninstall supermin on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the supermin package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove supermin
