How To Install subread-data on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install subread-data on Kali Linux.

What is subread-data

subread-data is:

This package provides data files from the original tarball:

• annotation: Directory including NCBI RefSeq gene annotations for genomes ‘hg19’, ‘mm10’ and ‘mm9’. Each row is an exon. Entrez gene identifiers and chromosomal coordinates are provided for each exon.
• test: Directory including test data and scripts.

There are three methods to install subread-data on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install subread-data Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
