How To Install stix-fonts on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install stix-fonts
on CentOS 7.
What is stix-fonts
The mission of the Scientific and Technical Information Exchange (STIX) font creation project is the preparation of a comprehensive set of fonts that serve the scientific and engineering community in the process from manuscript creation through final publication, both in electronic and print formats. This package includes base Unicode fonts containing most glyphs for standard use in the usual four styles.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install stix-fonts
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install stix-fonts.
Install stix-fonts on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install stix-fonts
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install stix-fonts
Install stix-fonts on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install stix-fonts
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install stix-fonts
How To Uninstall stix-fonts on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the stix-fonts
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove stix-fonts
