How To Install splitpatch on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install splitpatch on Kali Linux.
What is splitpatch
splitpatch is:
Divide a patch or diff file into pieces. The split can made by file or by hunk basis. This makes is possible to separate changes that might not be desirable or assemble the patch into more coherent set of changes.
The hunk option opens up possibility to compare similar patches hunk-by-hunk using tool like interdiff(1) from patchutils package. Operating on hunk level also gives more control, similar to Git, to selectively shelve in changes e.g. to Version Control repository.
There are three methods to install splitpatch on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install splitpatch Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install splitpatch using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the splitpatch package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove splitpatchUninstall splitpatch And Its Dependencies
To uninstall splitpatch and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove splitpatchRemove splitpatch Configurations and Data
To remove splitpatch configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge splitpatchRemove splitpatch configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
