This package contains an open source intelligence (OSINT) automation tool. Its goal is to automate the process of gathering intelligence about a given target, which may be an IP address, domain name, hostname, network subnet, ASN, e-mail address or person’s name.
SpiderFoot can be used offensively, i.e. as part of a black-box penetration test to gather information about the target, or defensively to identify what information you or your organisation are freely providing for attackers to use against you.
There are three methods to install spiderfoot on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install spiderfoot Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install spiderfoot using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install spiderfootInstall spiderfoot Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install spiderfoot using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the spiderfoot package we can use the following command:

To uninstall spiderfoot and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove spiderfootRemove spiderfoot Configurations and Data
To remove spiderfoot configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
