How To Install spice-html5 on Debian 10

What is spice-html5
spice-html5 is:
Spice Web client which runs entirely within a modern browser. It is limited in function, a bit slow, and lacks support for many features of Spice (audio, video, agents just to name a few).
The Simple Protocol for Independent Computing Environments (SPICE) is a remote display system built for virtual environments which allows you to view a computing ‘desktop’ environment not only on the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures.
There are three methods to install spice-html5
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install spice-html5 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install spice-html5
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install spice-html5

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install spice-html5
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install spice-html5
Install spice-html5 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install spice-html5
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install spice-html5
How To Uninstall spice-html5 on Debian 10
To uninstall only the spice-html5
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove spice-html5
Uninstall spice-html5 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall spice-html5
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove spice-html5
Remove spice-html5 Configurations and Data
To remove spice-html5
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge spice-html5
Remove spice-html5 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove spice-html5
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge spice-html5
