How To Install spell on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install spell on Kali Linux.
What is spell
spell is:
GNU Spell is a spell checking program which prints each misspelled word on a line of its own. It is designed as a clone of the standard Unix
spell' program, and implemented as a wrapper for Ispell. Spell accepts as its arguments a list of files to read from. Within that list, the magical file name-’ causes Spell to read from standard input. In addition, when called with no file name arguments, Spell assumes that it should process standard input.
There are three methods to install spell on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install spell Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install spell using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install spellInstall spell Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install spell using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install spellInstall spell Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install spell using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install spellHow To Uninstall spell on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the spell package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove spellUninstall spell And Its Dependencies
To uninstall spell and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove spellRemove spell Configurations and Data
To remove spell configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge spellRemove spell configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove spell configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge spellDependencies
