How To Install spandsp on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install spandsp on AlmaLinux 8.
What is spandsp
SpanDSP is a library of DSP functions for telephony, in the 8000 sample per second world of E1s, T1s, and higher order PCM channels. It contains low level functions, such as basic filters. It also contains higher level functions, such as cadenced supervisory tone detection, and a complete software FAX machine. The software has been designed to avoid intellectual property issues, using mature techniques where all relevant patents have expired. We can use yum or dnf to install spandsp on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install spandsp.
Install spandsp on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install spandsp using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install spandsp
Install spandsp on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install spandsp using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install spandsp
How To Uninstall spandsp on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the spandsp package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove spandsp
