How To Install spacenavd on Kali Linux

What is spacenavd
spacenavd is:
Spacenavd, is a free software replacement user-space driver (daemon), for 3Dconnexion’s six-degree-of-freedom input devices. It is compatible with the original 3dxsrv proprietary daemon provided by 3Dconnexion, and works perfectly with any program that was written for the 3Dconnexion driver. It also offers another method of accessing the device via a new non-X11-dependent protocol.
There are three methods to install spacenavd
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install spacenavd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install spacenavd
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install spacenavd

Install spacenavd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install spacenavd
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install spacenavd
How To Uninstall spacenavd on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the spacenavd
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove spacenavd
Uninstall spacenavd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall spacenavd
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove spacenavd
Remove spacenavd Configurations and Data
To remove spacenavd
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge spacenavd
