Solaar is a Linux device manager for Logitech’s Unifying Receiver wireless peripherals. It is able to pair/unpair devices to the receiver, and for some devices to read battery status.

This metapackage ensures integration with GNOME Shell/Unity. It is no longer needed and can safely be uninstalled.

There are three methods to install solaar-gnome3 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install solaar-gnome3 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
