How To Install sockstat on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install sockstat on Kali Linux.
What is sockstat
sockstat is:
Sockstat is a tool to let you view information about open connections. It is similar to the tool of the same name that is included in FreeBSD, trying to faithfully reproduce as much functionality as is possible.
This version of sockstat contains several additional features, like the ability to look up sockets in use by GID, UID and process name, as well as the other criteria supported by FreeBSD’s sockstat.
There are three methods to install sockstat on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sockstat Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sockstat using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sockstatInstall sockstat Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sockstat using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sockstatInstall sockstat Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sockstat using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the sockstat package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sockstatUninstall sockstat And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sockstat and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sockstatRemove sockstat Configurations and Data
To remove sockstat configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sockstatRemove sockstat configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
