How To Install socat on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install socat
on CentOS 7.
What is socat
Socat is a relay for bidirectional data transfer between two independent data channels. Each of these data channels may be a file, pipe, device (serial line etc. or a pseudo terminal), a socket (UNIX, IP4, IP6 - raw, UDP, TCP), an SSL socket, proxy CONNECT connection, a file descriptor (stdin etc.), the GNU line editor (readline), a program, or a combination of two of these.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install socat
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install socat.
Install socat on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install socat
