What is sip-redirect

sip-redirect is a tiny SIP redirect server written in Perl. It is IPv4 and IPv6 capable, but the IPv6 support is optional. The RFC 3261 was the base for this simple and very configurable implementation. There is neither TCP nor multicast support programmed in.

We can use yum or dnf to install sip-redirect on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install sip-redirect.

Install sip-redirect on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install sip-redirect using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install sip-redirect

Install sip-redirect on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install sip-redirect using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install sip-redirect

How To Uninstall sip-redirect on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the sip-redirect package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove sip-redirect
