How To Install sieve-connect on Ubuntu 18.04

This is sieve-connect. A client for the MANAGESIEVE protocol, as implemented by timsieved in Cyrus IMAP.
sieve-connect is designed to be both a tool which can be invoked from scripts and also a decent interactive client. It should also be a drop-in replacement for “sieveshell”, as supplied with Cyrus IMAP.
There are three methods to install sieve-connect
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sieve-connect Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sieve-connect
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sieve-connect

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sieve-connect
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sieve-connect
Install sieve-connect Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update

using aptitude

How To Uninstall sieve-connect on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the sieve-connect
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sieve-connect
Uninstall sieve-connect And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sieve-connect
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sieve-connect
Remove sieve-connect Configurations and Data
To remove sieve-connect
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sieve-connect
Remove sieve-connect configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
