How To Install shorewall-core on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install shorewall-core on Kali Linux.
What is shorewall-core

This package provides the core Shorewall components, which are required for the rest of the Shorewall packages to work.
There is not an especially good reason to have this package installed all by itself.
There are three methods to install shorewall-core on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install shorewall-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install shorewall-core using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the shorewall-core package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove shorewall-coreRemove shorewall-core Configurations and Data
To remove shorewall-core configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge shorewall-coreRemove shorewall-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
