How To Install sepp on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sepp on Kali Linux.
What is sepp
sepp is:
The tools SEPP and TIPP implementing these methods use ensembles of Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) in different ways, each focusing on a different problem.
SEPP stands for “SATe-enabled Phylogenetic Placement”, and addresses the problem of phylogenetic placement of short reads into reference alignments and trees.
TIPP stands for “Taxonomic Identification and Phylogenetic Profiling”, and addresses the problem of taxonomic identification and abundance profiling of metagenomic data.
There are three methods to install sepp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sepp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sepp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install seppInstall sepp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sepp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install seppInstall sepp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sepp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install seppHow To Uninstall sepp on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the sepp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove seppUninstall sepp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sepp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove seppRemove sepp Configurations and Data
To remove sepp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge seppRemove sepp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sepp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge seppDependencies
