How To Install sepia on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sepia on Kali Linux.
What is sepia
sepia is:
Sepia is a set of features to make Emacs a better tool for Perl development, including:
- an interactive prompt (REPL) for evaluating code;
- cross-referencing to find and navigate between function and variable definitions and uses;
- variable- and function-name completion.
- eldoc support to echo function arguments in the minibuffer
- functions to simplify POD browsing with Emacs-w3m
There are three methods to install sepia on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sepia Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sepia using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sepiaInstall sepia Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sepia using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sepiaInstall sepia Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sepia using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sepiaHow To Uninstall sepia on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the sepia package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sepiaUninstall sepia And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sepia and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sepiaRemove sepia Configurations and Data
To remove sepia configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sepiaRemove sepia configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sepia configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sepiaDependencies
